  • The Problem

Across Australia, growers dispose of millions of plastic coir bags every year. If there is $1 per bag budgeted for disposal, the financial burden adds up quickly. For you, this cost may have led to large-scale stockpiling, creating serious environmental and logistical challenges.

  • The Solution – Coir RX & Rock RX

Marshall Machinery has developed an end-to-end substrate processing system that enables:

    • Mechanical separation of substrate (coir or rockwool) from plastic
    • Recycling of clean substrate for use on-farm or for resale
    • Compaction of plastic waste for easier disposal
    • Operational safety, efficiency, and labour savings

We’ve also released the Rock RX – a dedicated system for processing rockwool substrate, offering the same economic and environmental benefits to growers using alternative growing mediums.

  • Key Features:

    · Mechanical Plastic Removal & Compaction: Efficiently strips and compacts plastic into long disposal bags while separating organic material.

    · Improved Separation System: Delivers a cleaner organic output, ideal for reuse or composting.

    · Adjustable Bag Width: Allows easy mechanical adjustment to suit various bag sizes and planting styles.

    · High-Capacity Hydraulics: Equipped with a 180L hydraulic oil reservoir.

    · Updated Blade Technology:

o 600mm Nil Plastic Fragmenting Blade to reduce contamination.

o Optional Tungsten-Tip Saw Blade for tougher substrate materials.

    · Safety First: Includes integrated emergency stop and electrical cut-out system.

    · Easy Handling: Fitted with fork slippers for simple relocation via forklift or telehandler.

    · Quiet, Reliable Operation: Powered by a 15kW, 3-phase 415V electric motor with soft start. (Use this plus a buffer to calculate generator requirements.)

    · Certified Compliance: Compliant with Australian Standard 4024 Part 1601.

    Included Option:
